WACS is Alden’s student-run news, video and social media operation. Students report, shoot, edit, design and stream for the whole community: a live show every school day, a weekly news program, livestreams of the school’s biggest nights, documentaries, websites and game-day graphics.

WACS Daily

A live show that replaced the morning announcements in September 2024. Students host, direct and stream it live every school day. It’s now in its third season.

WACS Weekly

A weekly news show that launched in fall 2022: 32 episodes in Season 1, 36 in Season 2, and 20 more when it returned for Season 3 in 2025–26. Anthony Kudla was the show’s first host, and his farewell episode closed Season 2 in June 2024.

Students run livestreams of the school’s biggest nights: commencements, awards nights, band and chorus concerts, assemblies, dedications and ceremonies. Families who can’t be in the room watch from home, and the recordings become the school’s archive.

The Hardest Goodbye: Mr. Larrabee

A student documentary about Bill Larrabee, who led Alden’s band and chorus for more than 30 years. It premiered as a surprise at his final concert, where more than 50 alumni came back to perform.

With COVID limits on gatherings, students filmed the program at Buffalo’s Naval & Military Park at Canalside, including the band and keynote speaker Steve Banko, a Vietnam veteran.
